Martin Lewis' MSE warns Tesco shoppers 'you have just hours'

Martin Lewis' Money Saving Expert has issued a warning to Tesco shoppers - telling them: "You have just hours". The BBC Sounds and ITV star's team at MSE have issued a warning to Tesco customers and shoppers over the launch of Christmas delivery slots.

MSE said: "Tesco shopper? You've got just HOURS left to get early access to Christmas delivery slots – here's how." It comes as Tesco has sent a reminder to customers that today is the last chance to sign up to Delivery Saver and get priority Christmas slots for tomorrow morning when they open at 6am. Tesco is making it easier for customers to get their Christmas food order this year with the introduction of thousands of extra slots in the two weeks leading up to Christmas.

This Christmas, the supermarket has added 60 more delivery vans to its fleet, boosting capacity for customers as the big day draws closer - with thousands of extra slots across the UK. The benefits of Delivery Saver aren’t limited to Christmas – Delivery Saver is Tesco’s subscription-based delivery service designed to help reduce the cost of regular online grocery orders, with a range of plans running for 6 or 12 months and starting from just £2.49 a month. The plans mean any orders will be delivered to you or available through the Click+Collect service at selected stores.

What’s more, Clubcard vouchers can be converted into reward tokens that can then be used as payment for a Delivery Saver subscription. Tesco has also increased the capacity of its rapid delivery service, Whoosh, with thousands of extra slots available on Christmas Eve this year – meaning customers can shop for last minute essentials or forgotten items for the all-important Christmas Day feast.

Extra slots are a mixture of Home Delivery and Click & Collect slots available across the UK. There are three Delivery Saver plans to choose from:

• Anytime Delivery plan – including same day delivery from £6.99 a month for a 12 month plan and access to priority Christmas and Easter delivery slots.
• Off Peak Delivery Plan – from just £3.99 a month for a 12 month plan. (NB: This plan does not include access to priority Christmas and Easter delivery slots).
• Click+Collect plan - just £2.49 a month for 6 months and access to priority Christmas and Easter Click+Collect slots.

Customers who sign up to the Anytime Delivery Saver plan will benefit from access to priority Christmas slots for 2024 as long they sign up by November 4. Slots are subject to availability and the latest slots to Christmas Day will either be on 23 December or 24 December for Delivery and Click+Collect depending on your location.

Customers also earn Clubcard points on their Delivery Saver subscription - and you can use Clubcard vouchers to cover the cost of the Delivery Saver plan too.
