Ryan Reynolds' stunning net worth emerges as he makes big Welsh announcement
by Liam Randall · Wales OnlineRyan Reynolds has expanded his business empire by buying a majority stake in the Wrexham Lager brewery.
The investment with Wrexham AFC co-owner Rob McElhenney and the club’s minority backers, the Allyn family from New York, is one of several savvy business moves the Hollywood A-lister has made in recent years.
Like the football club, the historic brewery company is already seeing the benefits of the tie-up and is looking for a larger base in the city centre to meet the international demand for its beer.

The announcement was a reminder of Reynolds’ financial clout and the fact that his vast income does not only come from his successful acting career.
His net worth is now estimated to be around $350 million (£281 million) and his side hustles have contributed significantly to that amount.
He first burst onto the Hollywood scene in the 1990s and is best known for his role as the lead character in the Deadpool series of movies.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Reynolds makes just under £15.4m per film. Those sizable fees are topped up by his business interests which saw him acquire a stake in Portland-based brand Aviation Gin in 2018.
The company was sold to alcoholic beverage maker Diageo in 2020 for up to £460m, netting him approximately £96m from the deal.
Reynolds previously owned a 25% stake in Mint Mobile, which was sold to T-Mobile in 2023 for more than £1bn.
His share of this deal was estimated by the Wall Street Journal to be around £250m in cash and stock.
He also co-founded Maximum Effort, which has been involved in producing and advertising several of his projects, including Deadpool and the Welcome to Wrexham docuseries.
Reynolds and Always Sunny in Philadelphia star McElhenney jointly bought Wrexham for a nominal fee in a deal completed in February 2021, immediately injecting £2m into the club.
The North Wales team has reported losses under their ownership and currently owes the pair around £9m in loans, but has enjoyed great success on the pitch after achieving back-to-back promotions to League One under manager Phil Parkinson.
The TV series documenting their takeover has also provided global attention, attracting big-money sponsorships from the likes of United Airlines and Metaquest. Meanwhile, the club’s turnover increased to £10.478m in the year ending June 30, 2023.
Reynolds also has stakes in password management company 1Password, financial management firm WealthSimple, and Canadian fintech outfit Nuvei Corporation.
In June 2023, he broadened his sporting interests by joining an investment group that bought a 24% share of the Alpine Formula 1 team.
Reynolds, together with his wife Blake Lively, owns several properties including a £4.3m family home in the Pound Ridge area of New York and a luxury apartment in Tribeca.
His shrewd business moves have made investing in Wrexham Lager and the city’s football club possible. As well as his wealth, both are gaining from the global exposure he brings.
