The Government's White Papers of spending and receipts confirms the Government will have a surplus of €25 billion for this year.

The figure has been boosted by the Apple back tax of €14bn and stronger than expected corporation tax.

The document published by the Department of Finance gives the final snapshot of revenue and spending before the Government agrees the Budget.

The figures confirms total tax revenue will be €105bn this year.

The standout figure is corporation tax which is €29.5bn, which is €5bn more than had been forecast.

The figures are produced before adjustments are made for spending in the Budget.

The document confirms a surplus of almost €12bn for 2025.
