It's rare you get many things for free these days - but this mobile deal will stick a £100 Currys gift card in your pocket. With Black Friday and Christmas fast approaching, there may be endless ways to spend it.

Mobiles.co.uk has a great budget mobile deal which won't break the bank. For £14.99 a month and £59 upfront cost, you can get a Google Pixel 8a with a free £100 Currys gift card included. Over the 24 months contract, you'll pay £418 but the £100 gift card means you'll pay just £318 which is an amazing price.

The provider will be through iD Mobile and you'll get 100GB of data as well as unlimited minutes and texts - and for £14.99 a month, it's a brilliant budget mobile deal. We also reviewed the Google Pixel 8a and gave it an easy recommendation for a budget smartphone.

The Pixel 8a is a cheaper, curvier version of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, and is a reasonably compact size phone with an excellent camera, all-day battery life, decent performance, and seven years of software support. Unlike the glass £699 Pixel 8 and £999 Pixel 8 Pro, the 8a has a plastic back. Its matt finish hides fingerprints completely and is less likely to smash or crack if dropped.

The phone is also more rounded than its siblings, and has thicker black bezels around the screen. The main 64MP sensor used is the same one you’ll find on 2023’s Pixel 7a. It’s great to see the phone is also powered my Google’s Tensor G3 chip.

While it’s not the most powerful Android processor out there, it is the same one you’ll find in the other Pixel 8 phones, so getting it here for half the price of the Pixel 8 Pro is a boost.

A downside is the quality of the display. It's a 6.1-inch OLED panel that looks great most of the time but colours are off when you tilt the phone at an angle, with some banding you see on cheaper devices.

If you want a new Android phone and don’t want to spend the earth, the Pixel 8a is a great choice. Or if you want an alternative, Sky has some of the affordable prices on the market - but be aware: these are long 36-month contracts. It is offering the iPhone Pro from £33 a month not including the airtime plan if you don't mind spending a bit more.
