Opening date for huge new Plymouth M&S food hall announced

The countdown is on

M&S has confirmed the date when its huge new food hall in Plymouth will open. At 14,000 sq ft, the Bravo Way store will be twice the size of the current Crownhill shop - and it will stock the entire M&S food catalogue.

The retailer says customers fill find a "bigger and transformed in-store bakery", serving a selection of pastries and bread, including its signature Collection Sourdough. The store's range of fruit and vegetables includes produce from 400 farms across Devon.

There are also be dedicated flower and wine shops. The new store will be one of three M&S stores in Plymouth, with the others on Cornwall Street and a convenience store in Derriford Hospital.

Sean Pearce, store manager at M&S Plymouth Derriford, said: “We are so excited to reveal our opening date. The countdown is now well and truly on! Over the next month, we are continuing to work hard to make sure everything is ready for customers and welcoming our new colleagues to the M&S family.

"It’s going to be fantastic to offer more products and more of that M&S magic – in time for the all-important festive season. As a business, we have a long history in Plymouth and it’s great to be investing in the city to create a new store we can all be proud of."

The M&S Crownhill food hall opposite will close the evening before the new store opens, with staff moving over to Bravo Way. The opening has created 42 new jobs, forming part of a 100-strong store team.

The new store will continue to work with food redistribution platform Neighbourly to support Devon and Cornwall Food Action, a charity aiming to eradicate food poverty. Since 2015, the M&S team at Crownhill have donated the equivalent of 270,000 meals.

M&S Plymouth Derriford will open on Wednesday, November 20 at 9am at 1 Bravo Way, Derriford, PL6 5GA. Opening hours will be from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday and between 10am and 4pm on Sundays.
