Southland weather turning topsy turvy

INLAND EMPIRE - (INT) - Two weather-makers will be impacting Southern California.

KEY POINTS
• Temperatures drop off significantly Monday remaining below normal through the end of the week.
• Slight chance of rain except the deserts. Strong wind gusts for the mountains and deserts to open the week
• First frost of the season for the High Desert next Wednesday and Thursday mornings

High clouds from distant tropical storm Kristy could thicken enough for some light rain at higher elevations in the mountains later on Sunday. It’s only the forerunner of another weather system. A cold front born in the Gulf of Alaska will sweep down the California coast. Cooler, windier, and potentially wetter weather is expected Monday into Tuesday. A Wind Advisory will be in place Monday and Tuesday for the deserts. Patchy frost is possible for the High Desert during the middle of the week.

Going forward, temperatures will finish out the week 10 degrees below normal.
