INLAND EMPIRE - (INT) - The Southland will bid farewell to Indian Summer after this weekend. Temperatures will begin cooling Sunday and accelerating downward Monday and Tuesday. The change will be accompanied by winds in the mountains and deserts and a healthy dose of night and morning low clouds and fog spreading inland nightly from the coast. As a low pressure system from the Gulf of Alaska digs south into California, it may be cold enough for the season’s first patchy frost in portions of the Victor Valley and the High Desert early next Wednesday. Temperatures could fall into the mid 30s. Mountain resort communities may also experience the first freeze of the season. The same cold front has the chance of some light showers Monday night or Tuesday morning but accumulations will be light, if at all. Temperatures will remain well below average through much of next week, warming slightly later in the following days.
