The UK could face 11 inches of snow and -6C temperatures, according to some forecasters. Weather maps from WX Charts show that later this month there will be an Arctic blast where temperatures drop as low as -6C with snow depth charts showing 11 inches could hit.

Met Desk data, which is used to project WX Charts, shows in western Scotland 34 centimetres could land. The worst of the weather will likely be concentrated around November 22, with temperatures as low as -4C in England - and even colder north of the border in Scotland.

Despite the reports from WX Charts, the Met Office doesn't seem convinced. Forecasters and meteorologists have made no mention of the white stuff in its forecasts for November and into December, and neither has the BBC Weather team, either.

James Madden, from Exacta Weather, said: "The expected and continued mild November weather is still set to give way to wintry blasts and some early snow later in the month, but when? Our current forecasts have some quite strong indicators for these changes to occur for in and around 19-20 November at the earliest and/or for up to several days later and during late November across the UK and certain parts of Ireland/Northern Ireland.

"Additionally, our long-range forecasts from 100+ days ahead opted for a 'weak to moderate' confidence scenario for further stormy conditions to potentially coincide with cold from the north to deliver an early wintry blast on at least 1-2 occasions during the period of November 6-19."

He went on and added: "The exact same and now 125 days in advance forecast for this period also stated:, "Not to be surprised to see some cold blasts, wintry weather, and even snow or overnight snow in parts quite far south towards the end of November, and despite these earlier mild conditions and run of the mill November weather.""
