People Are Sharing The Things That They Think Are Hated On Way More Than It Should Be
by Brian Galindo · BuzzFeedThere are lots of frivolous things that people tend to universally have a strong hate towards. One good example is the final season of Game of Thrones, specifically the finale. Yes, the series missed the landing and wrapped up things unsatisfyingly. However, I would argue that the season wasn't entirely bad. It started off strong and had some great moments. I think the hate the ending gets is too much because it has caused people to write off the entire series.
Recently, Reddit user shaunna_thedork was curious about those frivolous (and also a bit more serious) things that get way too much hate when they asked: "What's something that's hated on way more than it should be?"
The thread got over 4.5K comments. Below are the top best, and most-often repeated responses:
1. "Sitting idle. I hate it when it's labeled as 'wasting time.' You need some time for your brain to slow down and just exist. It's not a crime."
2. "Changing your mind on things. People act like it's a sign of weakness, but it actually shows growth. Admitting you're wrong or seeing things differently is how you evolve, not something to be ashamed of."
3. "The word 'moist.' I think everyone hates it because the internet said to, 10 years ago."
4. "Other people's interests. People love to just HATE things like they're a movie hero with a vengeance. My boy, it literally doesn't affect you, f'ing chill."
5. "Sleeping in. People act like you're a useless member of society if you sleep past 10 a.m."
6. "Taylor Swift. I get the urge to make fun of her and her fanbase, but at the same time, credit where credit is due."
7. "People who choose not to drink who aren't recovering alcoholics or pregnant. Sometimes, people who do drink have decided they don't feel like drinking that night — their reasoning being they simply don't want to."
8. "Guy Fieri. He actually does quite a bit of charity work!"
9. "Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. JC, people need to get over it and leave them alone."
10. "Fast-food workers. Most of y'all have no idea how hard we actually work or how horribly y'all treat us for no reason whatsoever."
11. "Liking popular things is hated on more than it should be. Enjoying mainstream trends doesn't make someone's tastes less valid, yet it’s often dismissed as being unoriginal."
12. "Any hobby, movie, or book series that is particularly popular amongst women and girls."
13. "Vegan food. It doesn't taste as horrible as people make it out to be. And a lot of 'regular' food is vegan, and people don't realize that."
14. "Nickelback. They get way more hate than they deserve; their music isn't that bad!"
15. "People who choose to be child-free. Some people just don't want kids, and that's fine."
16. "Disney Adults get so much hate and shame. I don't see the problem with adults enjoying something, and it makes me sad to see them get ripped to shreds over a harmless interest/passion. Adults enjoying a theme park, character, or aesthetic isn't hurting anyone."
17. "Androids. People with iPhones think they have some diamond when most of the time they have a phone with features Androids have already had for years."
18. "The Big Bang Theory. Yeah, I agree it went on too long and was not that good, but I think it's relatively inoffensive for the most part."
19. And lastly, "Pineapple on pizza. It sparks passionate debates, with some people loving the sweet and savory combo, while others vehemently oppose it."
