Will Texas See Snow This Winter? Will El Paso?

· NewsTalk 1290

Fall is in the air across Texas and winter is on the way. Here's what the good old Farmer's Almanac has to say about our snow chances here in Texas.

A big chunk of Texas doesn't often see snow ... or even winter for that matter. Here in west Texas, we go from spring to summer to spring "light" and then back to spring.

Some areas of Texas can expect a little white stuff though. Genuine snow ... not the white stuff that's in season along the border all year.

The Farmer's Almanac is pretty much the go to when it comes to weather and is usually at least as accurate as NOAA or NASA. Sometimes it's MORE accurate.

The Farmers' Almanac is an annual American periodical that has been in continuous publication since 1818, providing long-range weather predictions for the U.S. and Canada. The almanac states that its readers find its predictions to be accurate about 80% to 85% of the time. - statesman.com

Will Texas See Snow This Winter?

For some parts of the lone star state, yes but nobody should count on a white Christmas. What snow we do get probably won't show up until February.

Thanks to La Nina, this winter will be a bit warmer and drier than normal. Snowfall will probably be, (mostly), limited to the panhandle region. El Paso may be a tad colder than normal, with a little more rain than usual, but no tengo snow.
