A full list of 25 power companies paying energy customers £150 each to help them get through the winter have been revealed. From October 2024 people will start getting the Warm Home Discount from the Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) and their energy firm.

Customers at 25 energy suppliers could get the cash as the Ofgem energy price cap is hiked this week to a eye-watering £1717. Pensions Minister Emma Reynolds MP, from the Labour Party government, told the Commons this week: "This winter, we expect over three million households, including over one million pensioners, to benefit under the scheme."

You qualify if you either get the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit or are on a low income and have high energy costs. The Department for Work and Pensions has issued a list of the 25 suppliers which will pay out the sums.

Ecotricity, E.ON Next, EDF, Good Energy and London Power complete the list. Other suppliers included include Octopus Energy and Outfox the Market, which currently has the cheapest energy tariff on the market right now - and a nine per cent undercut on the new cap, which began on October 1.

Other suppliers paying the cash include OVO and Rebel Energy as well as Sainsbury’s Energy, Scottish Gas – see British Gas, ScottishPower, Shell Energy Retail and So Energy. The list is completed by Tomato Energy, TruEnergy, Utilita and, lastly, Utility Warehouse.
