UK set for snow 'next weekend' with flurries hitting one area 'worst'

The UK faces snowfall next weekend with "wintry showers" set to hit parts of the country. New weather maps from WX Charts, which are projected daily using Met Desk data and figures, show snow in Scotland next month in the first few days of November.

Wintry showers are expected to cover a large part of the Highlands on Saturday 2 November, while overnight temperatures will drop below freezing across the entire country. Scotland has been earmarked as the worst-hit area set for snowfall as it experiences a dusting.

James Madden from Exacta Weather explained: "More prominent high pressure rises are still to be expected during next week and after some cooler to cold dips later this week. A wintry blast is also still a feature within days of our 110 days plus in advance forecast for this period and during next week.

"Full of cold and a pretty bad chest infection at the minute, everyone, but watch this space on all the above and I'll post as and when required over the coming days..." He said: "The potential wintry blast/stormy weather for later this week/early next week is literally varying from run to run at present and what this means?

"This is also something that I covered within this morning's detailed forecast updates, and despite 'current' third-party projections steering away from this scenario at present, I still feel this is something that will evidently change again to something more prominent in favour of my forecast over the coming days (the updates also cover as to why)."

Mr Madden said: "The same forecasting methodology also previously identified the two major stormy periods for the exact dates in September and October from over 100 days ahead, and this period should also follow on in similar fashion and accuracy with at least some elements coming to fruition once again.

"Additionally, further high pressure rises can also be expected after these dates. The subsequent GFS runs below also clearly demonstrate these variations from run to run at present and how close our long-range forecast projections are within these varying runs."
