Amazon Prime Big Deals Day is one of the best times to get those big Christmas presents wrapped up and we've rounded up the 7 best toy deals for younger children to shop

I kick off my Christmas shopping right after my son's birthday at the end of September. I don't even consider this particularly organised or advanced, as it only leaves three pay days before the big day.

Spreading the cost of Christmas over three months works for me. Plus, it allows me to take advantage of big sales and toy events that usually start in September.

Amazon Prime Day, which spans October 8 and 9, is one of the best chances to secure those big Christmas presents. This is closely followed by Aldi's wooden toy event on Thursday, October 10. Argos are also expected to cut toy prices ahead of the major shopping season, but they currently have a two-for-£15 toy deal, while parents can benefit from Smyths' money-off deal running until October 9.

But as Amazon's big deals days begin, here are the retailer's top big toy deals:

1. Barbie Dream House - was £349.99, now £166

This Barbie Dream House is Mattel's latest addition and was released last year alongside Margot Robbie's Barbie Movie. The house typically sells for £349.99, but is reduced to an incredible £166 on Amazon Prime Day. Reviews do caution about the "big" size of the toy, noting it is "brilliant for a Barbie fan." Alternatively, the older model, which is slightly different and consists of three stories with a slide and pool area, has been discounted from £349.99 to £208.67.

2. Barbie Dream Camper - was £129.99, now £47.49

This Barbie Dream camper is the ideal solution for those who lack the space for the Barbie Dream House. It features a slide, a pool area, a mini kitchen with accessories and a pop-up shower room that truly mirrors real-life play. It's available for £54.99 at John Lewis. The same model has been discounted to £47.49 from its original price of £129.99 as part of Amazon Prime Day deals.

3. Hot Wheels City Ultimate Garage Playset - was £64.99, now £51

If you're in search of an equally massive toy to dominate your living room, but centred around cars rather than dolls, this Hot Wheels City Ultimate Garage Playset could be just the ticket. The garage can accommodate 100 cars and comes with race tracks and a moving T-Rex, plus two toy cars, with Amazon cutting the price to £51 this Amazon Prime Day.
