Poundland shoppers rave over £2 sprays that 'smell like' Sol De Janeiro

by · PlymouthLive

Poundland fans have been tipped off about a potential steal for those who love Sol De Janeiro products. Some of the £2 alternatives at the discount retailer reportedly smell 'just like' the scent of the high-end brand.

Sol De Janeiro has a strong reputation in the fragrance world, attracting thousands of customers daily to its range of perfumes and body sprays. However, bargain hunters who want to stretch their budget further while still enjoying their cherished scents might find Poundland a surprising option.

A savvy shopper took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group to share her discovery. Ali wrote: "Got this by email yesterday and I will be stalking my store as my girls loved the salted caramel Sol de Janeiro [alternative] previously!"

She highlighted that Poundland's Body Stories range is available in-store and online, with additional discounts obtainable through the Poundland Perks scheme. Ali shared the message: "You can get sprays and body creams for £2 instead of £2.50!

"I hadn't even heard of Poundland perks until I went in today!" The post invited a flurry of excitement from other group members.

The Body Stories range on Poundland's website offers various sprays, body washes, and travel sets. Prices started at just £2.50.

One person commented: "Bought the salted caramel travel set today lovely stuff and good prices", reports the Mirror. Another commented: "I have the originals and I honestly prefer this. Glad I've got an order in now as they'll probably sell out fast once more people know!"

A third customer raved: "Saw these the other day. They smell lovely. Nobody would ever know it was from Poundland once you've got it on either!"

One shopper didn't seem convinced by a Poundland product beating her usual Sol de Janeiro sprays, but Ali explained: "My eldest daughter is a brand 'snob' and loves the SDJ stuff, but this is a good substitute for when she's at school and only uses the SDJ for more special occasions."

The original commenter agreed that this approach "made sense." With a typical Sol de Janeiro spray costing around £24 in stores like Boots, it is clear why some might want to stretch their lives out with a few doses of the Poundland sprays in between.

It comes as Poundland has introduced a lunchtime meal deal range, joining Tesco and Aldi. This year's festive options include two sandwiches: turkey, cranberry, and stuffing or cheese and Christmas slaw, both available as part of a £3 meal deal.
