MTN Ghana Observes Global Ethics Day with Focus on Anti-Bribery Efforts

MTN Ghana recently marked Global Ethics Day with a podcast discussion focused on anti-bribery and corruption, aligning with the global theme “Ethics Empowered.”

The local theme, “Heightening Anti-Bribery and Corruption Practices,” highlighted the company’s commitment to ethical business practices.

The Ethics Podcast presented MTN’s extensive training and awareness initiatives aimed at preventing bribery and corruption, reinforcing the company’s zero-tolerance policy on unethical conduct. Chief Risk and Compliance Officer Joseph Dogbe emphasized the importance of addressing this critical risk area, stating, “We are committed to promoting business ethics to ensure MTN’s sustainability and growth.”

During the podcast, panellists from various divisions of MTN Ghana and MobileMoney Limited discussed existing systems and technologies that help mitigate bribery and corruption risks. They outlined the company’s consequence management processes, detailing actions taken in response to any incidents of unethical behavior, reaffirming their commitment to transparency and accountability.

The panellists stressed that the ethical principles upheld by MTN Ghana are essential not only for the company’s sustainability but also for empowering staff to make a positive impact on society. Participants were encouraged to report any unethical conduct through the company’s anonymous whistleblowing channel and to seek guidance from the Ethics Office when facing ethical dilemmas.
