The Inkey List is back under the stewardship of its cofounder.
The skin care brand cofounded by Mark Curry and Colette Laxton has named Curry its current chief executive officer. He succeeds Stephanie Davis Michelman, who came last year from Benefit Cosmetics.
Davis Michelman “supported the professionalisation of the business and its geographic expansion,” a statement from the company read, adding that she is stepping down “with immediate effect. During her tenure, she worked closely with the brand founders to bolster the brand’s awareness and consumer base.”

Laxton, who preceded Davis Michelman as CEO, will “continue in her role overseeing brand guardianship and consumer direction.”
The company did not provide further comment from Laxton, Curry or Davis Michelman.
Earlier this year, the brand had sold more than 70 million products, spanning skin care and body care. Among those key launches are notable expansions into lip balms, as well as body care. In 2023, the brand’s revenues were said to have passed the $100 million mark.
“There’s a lot you can get away with as a younger brand, but now we’re demonstrably showing organic growth,” Curry said at the time of the body care launch. “The key thing about brand awareness is being famous for your heroes and not just launching new products, so we’ve been very focused on face. But body care is swelling.”
As reported, skin care is still growing in the prestige market, where The Inkey List is distributed. In the first half, skin care grew 7 percent in the first half of 2023, per data from Circana, though unit sales grew the fastest out of any other category.
