I discovered £11 Ryanair bag that fits new cabin rules after 'rip off' price rise

Last year's bargain buy is still going strong and a absolute find for Ryanair passengers

by · DevonLive

The Amazon bag that gained popularity last summer continues to be a hit this year, thanks to its surprisingly spacious design.

Priced at just £10.99, the Narwey bag is perfectly sized to meet Ryanair's strict cabin baggage requirements, helping travelers avoid extra fees by fitting neatly under the seat in front. This is especially valuable as Ryanair has recently updated its pricing for larger cabin bags.

Previously, passengers could pay between £20 and £38 for an additional hand luggage item, but the new range has jumped to £20 to £60—a significant increase for budget-conscious travellers. Those upgrading their luggage after booking or at the airport may face these higher charges.

The price jump has sparked dismay across social media where flyers label the increase as extortionate. A disenchanted user expressed frustration on Twitter, with @ColinScunner posting: "So @Ryanair have put the price of Priority boarding up from £26 to £40 ... rip off ... everything extra, so you book your flight then it's add on after add on after add on. Before you know it you're another £100 out of pocket."

Echoing this sentiment, @Sickboy_Mcsatan added: "Just avoid Ryanair if you can, they make EasyJet seem luxurious and customer friendly. They charge extra for *every* little thing, I'll never use them again if there's an alternative.", reports the Mirror.

Some passengers were left baffled by the sudden additional charges. @stuarthattonjr shared his experience on social media, stating: "My ticket included a 10kg bag. I only have hand luggage. At the gate the steward said you can't take hand luggage, That's £60. Pay it and we'll put it through as a 10kg bag" This is where the handy little Ryanair-friendly bag comes into its own.

When questioned about the sudden increases, Ryanair explained: "Fee varies depending on the route and travel dates selected."

The airline elaborated on their baggage policy explaining, "Non-priority customers who have not added a bag to their booking can still purchase a 10kg Check-in bag at the airport bag drop desk for €/£ 35.99. Non-priority customers who bring their 10kg Check-in bag to the boarding gate may check it in against payment of a fee of €/£ 46.00 - €/£ 60.00".

This is where the handy little Ryanair-friendly bag comes into its own. It won't cost a penny more at check-in and is compact enough to comply with Ryanair's stringent rules, while also suitable for use on easyJet, British Airways, Jet2, Wizz Air, and Virgin Atlantic.

Last year, I snagged one for myself to test and immediately understood the hype surrounding this nifty little travel bag.

With dimensions that fit into Ryanair's approved 40 x 20 x 25 cm slot, its wide-opening interior astonishingly houses all essentials for a short trip. I packed in two pairs of jeans, three T-shirts, a hoodie, two dresses, swimwear, abundant socks and underwear, an extra set of trainers, and my trusty toiletry kit for a weekend getaway without any packing distress.

When I went to close the bag, I was surprised at its magic. Previously shapeless, the bag's straps worked with the zipper to bring the original shape back, transforming it into a perfectly rectangular carry-on.

On a trip to France this summer, the bag slid seamlessly under the seat in front, leaving space for my feet on either side. Compact and capable, this little bag is a bargain that you can snap up all year round.

Travel enthusiasts have been snapping up a particular travel duffel bag on Amazon, and it's receiving high praise for its value, especially during the Amazon Prime Deals Day event from October 8 to October 9.

The Narwey bag has garnered nearly 8,000 five-star reviews, with one customer calling it "just perfect for the job" and another noting it's "great for budget travel."

A satisfied buyer mentioned, "I recently purchased the foldable travel duffel bag for Ryanair Airlines from Amazon, and it has proven to be a fantastic addition to my travel gear. The size is perfect for Ryanair's underseat cabin bag requirements, measuring 40x20x25 cm when expanded."

While many reviews are positive, some users did point out that the zipper could be fragile and the material a bit flimsy. However, from personal experience, the bag seems to hold up well against the demands of air travel, particularly with Ryanair, allowing for some extra spending money for holiday treats like a glass of Rosé.

Priced at £10.99, the Narwey bag is available in various colours and patterns. For those looking for different options, the stylish Antler Chelsea and the Cabin Max Metz from Next also comply with Ryanair's stringent cabin restrictions.
