Social welfare Ireland: Exact dates for one-off lump sums, October double payment & Christmas Bonus
A long series of lump sums, double payments and bonuses were confirmed for several social welfare schemes in Budget 2025, with dates now pinpointed for when they’ll be sent out

There are several one-off lump sums, double payments that will be sent out this month and a Christmas Bonus.
All the cost of living measures below will be sent out before the end of the year.

- €200 once-off payment to people getting the Living Alone Increase in the week beginning 11 November 2024
- €300 once-off payment to people getting Fuel Allowance in the week beginning 4 November 2024
- €400 once-off payment to people getting the Working Family Payment in the week beginning 4 November 2024
- €100 once-off payment for each qualifying child to people who get an increase for a qualified child in the week beginning 25 November 2024
- Two double payments of Child Benefit for each child, one to be paid on 5 November 2024 and the second on 3 December 2024.
- A double week payment to people getting a long-term social welfare weekly payment in the week starting 28 October 2024 (in addition to the Christmas Bonus)
- €400 once-off payment to people getting Disability Allowance, Invalidity Pension or Blind Pension on 4 November 2024
- €400 once-off payment to people getting Domiciliary Care Allowance and/or the Carer’s Support Grant in the week beginning 11 November 2024
- Certain social welfare recipients will get a Christmas Bonus, a double payment, in the week commencing 2 December 2024
However, it should be noted that if you get Disability Allowance, Invalidity Pension, Blind Pension, Domiciliary Care Allowance and/or the Carer's Support Grant, you'll get one payment of €400, even if you qualify for more than one of these payments or you are caring for more than one person.
A Christmas Bonus of 100% will be paid in the week starting 2 December 2024 to people getting a qualifying social welfare payment. This is in addition to the double week payment for people on long-term social welfare payments in the week starting 28 October 2024.
People who are getting the following payments will get the Christmas Bonus:

- Daily Expenses Allowance (long term)
- Deserted Wife's Allowance
- Deserted Wife's Benefit
- Disability Allowance
- Disablement Benefit
- Domiciliary Care Allowance
- Farm Assist
- Guardian's Payment
- Illness Benefit (long -term)
- Invalidity Pension
- Job Initiative Scheme
- Jobseeker's Allowance (long term)
- Jobseeker's Transitional Payment
- Magdalen Commission Scheme
- Death Benefit Scheme (under the Occupational Injuries Scheme)
- One-Parent Family Payment
- Partial Capacity Benefit
- Rural Social Scheme
- State Pension (Contributory)
- State Pension (Non-contributory)
- Supplementary Welfare Allowance (long-term)
- Tús (community work placement initiative)
- Widow’s, Widower’s or Surviving Civil Partner’s (Contributory) Pension
