McDonald's reduces popular menu item by 50 per cent for one day only

McDonald's customers can bag a bargain with 50 per cent off a fan favourite today.

Today, Monday 14 October, fans across the UK can snap up 6 Chicken McNuggets for half price, available exclusively through the McDonald's app. 

Customers are also treated to 30 per cent off the Cheesy Bacon Flatbread, as the breakfast staple is reduced to just £1.19 today.

The mouth-watering morning go-to combines beechwood smoked bacon and rich melted cheese in a freshly toasted flatbread for a great start to Mondays. 

Meanwhile, the midday lunch break brings another tantalising deal, as 6 Chicken McNuggets are available for just £1.39 from 11am. 

Customers can sink their teeth into the classic crispy coated chicken pieces, along with their choice of sauce, all whilst saving 50 per cent. 

McDonald's customers can get their hands on the delicious menu items for less this Monday, with the two deals available through the McDonald's App.

Fans are even able to earn points when they purchase one of the deals by opting into MyMcDonald's Rewards.

The initiative means every penny spent equals one point, so by purchasing a Cheesy Bacon Flatbread, for example, 119 points will be earnt, while 6 Chicken McNuggets will earn customers 139 points.  

Customers also have the opportunity to donate the cash equivalent of their points to a variety of charities, including BBC Children in Need, FareShare and Ronald McDonald House Charities. 

Through these organisations, McDonald's UK is committed to funding and and supporting youth work, alongside reducing food poverty and waste in the UK.

Customers can start earning points on all orders by downloading the McDonald's App via Google Play or the Apple App Store and signing up and opting into MyMcDonald's Rewards. 

It comes after McDonald's launched a new meal deal in the UK earlier this month, and people have branded it the 'adult' version of a happy meal - but they have a few complaints about it.

The deal, which costs £5, has been available since October 9, offers diners a few options so they are able to customise the offering to suit them.

Included in the price tag, is a cheeseburger or a mayo chicken sandwich, plus a medium drink, fries and four chicken nuggets.

Alternatively, the fries can be swapped out for a fruit bag with apple slices and grapes, side salad, or cucumber sticks.

McDonald's currently does not sell four chicken nuggets separately on the menu and they are currently only available in a Happy Meal.  

The fast food giant only sells packets of six individually, which usually cost around £4.19.
