A tropical depression has formed over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Saturday. 

Tropical Storm Milton has formed in the Gulf of Mexico. It is located 355 kilometres north-northeast of Veracruz, Mexico.

The hurricane is not threatening land, according to forecasters
