Two men who stole a phone at knifepoint in Mandalay died in a motorcycle crash while attempting to escape on September 26 at around 7:00 pm. The incident took place at the corner of 64th Street and 40th Street in Maha Aung Myay Township where a couple was waiting in their car to pick up their child from school. The husband, who stepped out of the car to take a phone call, was approached by two men on a motorcycle. One of the men grabbed his phone and when the victim resisted, he was slashed in the head with a knife.
