Apple’s first smart home camera will go into mass production in 2026
According to the industry insider Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is planning to launch a smart home camera product in the coming years. The analyst claims that the company’s first smart home camera will go into mass production in 2026. So there’s a possibility that the device will launch by the end of 2026 or at some point in 2027.
In a post on Medium, the analyst mentioned that the smart home camera is designed to integrate seamlessly with other Apple products via wireless connectivity. The camera might also feature deep integration with Apple Intelligence and Siri.
“This strategic move demonstrates Apple’s continued exploration of growth opportunities in the home market”, Kuo commented.
Apple is targeting to sell tens of millions of these devices initially
Furthermore, Kuo claims that Apple has a long-term goal of selling more than 10 million smart home camera devices initially. Notably, the device will increase the global smart home IP camera market significantly with its features. Currently, the global smart home IP camera shipments are around 30-40 million units per year. He also added that the Chinese tech firm GoerTek will be the exclusive assembly supply for the smart home camera device.
Notably, in the same post, Kuo also said that Apple is also planning to launch updated AirPods with more health management features. They will have more health-focussed features similar to the Apple Watch. Goertek will also serve as a supplier for a 2026 AirPods model. As of now, we don’t have many details about the upcoming AirPods, but we hope the rumor mill will spill more information soon.
