Amazon slashes £136 off Ring outdoor camera bundle that's 'easy to install'

Amazon has slashed £136 off a Ring Outdoor Camera bundle that's 'easy to install'. The cameras, which can be connected to Alexa-enabled devices were said to be 'discreet', with 'good' video quality and motion detection.

The battery operated Ring Outdoor Camera bundle usually retails at £270.96, but for a limited time, Amazon shoppers can grab it for £134.99. The deal will end at 8.55pm on October 14.

The bundle includes three stick-up cameras - available in black or white - which allow customers to 'build their own outdoor security system'. The wireless Ring Outdoor Cameras could be 'placed on a flat surface' or 'mounted almost anywhere outside your home', although mount accessories were sold separately.

Those who purchase the 'weather-resistant' Ring Outdoor Cameras would be able to 'see, hear and speak to visitors', and also 'check what's happening outdoors' while controlling the 'home security system with the Ring app'. Thanks to the adjustable motion detection, users would receive a notification straight to their smartphone whenever motion was detected.

Lynette said the Ring Outdoor Camera was an "excellent product", adding: "Easy setup and quality images." Mike gave it five-stars and wrote: "Perfect. Very easy to install. Long battery life. Not too big, so discreet in the garden and the video quality is perfect."

David said the Ring Outdoor Camera was "good" but the "battery life is poor". He continued: "I bought this camera as I already have a Ring doorbell. The camera works very well, video quality is good and motion detection works well with the right settings, however when setup to work how I want it to, the battery life goes from 98 per cent (fully charged) to 20 per cent in about two weeks."

He added: "If I setup the camera with recommended settings for good battery life the camera fails to detect most motion. I have now ordered a Ring solar panel so will monitor how well battery life improves." Another shopper said of the Ring Outdoor Camera: "Of the three I bought in November 2023, two batteries have now failed to charge in less than six months."

Elsewhere, Argos was selling the Blink Outdoor Wireless Battery Smart HD CCTV Security Camera for less than half price. The camera previously cost £89.99 but was now £35.99. John Lewis also has the Tapo C510W Outdoor Pan & Tilt Smart Security Camera in stock for £46.99.
