2025 BMW Motorrad C 400 X ‘Rugged’

Receiving a facelift and other updates are the 2025 BMW Motorrad C 400 GT and C 400 X scooters. Designed for urban mobility, the 2024 BMW Motorrad C 400 GT is priced at RM51,500 while the C 400 X retails at RM47,500 in Malaysia.

Both scooters come with a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with OHC and four-valves that is Euro 5+ compliant. Power output is listed as 34 PS at 7,500 rpm with 35 Nm of torque at 5,750 rpm, driving a stepless CVT gearbox with centrifugal dry clutch and a two-stage reduction gear final drive.

New for the facelifted C 400 X in 2025 is a “Rugged” model variant that comes with Kalamata metallic matt paint and red wheels complemented by gold brake callipers, alongside the basic Blackstorm metallic version. A heavily tinted windshield, a red-black seat bench, stainless steel footboard inserts, and hand guards are available as an optional accessories.

Meanwhile, the C 400 GT gets the “Exclusive” model with Diamond white metallic colour scheme and gold painted wheels with the black bench seat contrasted with gold stitching. Optional equipment for the C 400 GT executive is floor lighting with BMW logo projection and stainless steel footboard inserts.

A new top box is now available as optional accessory for the C 400 GT and C 400 X, with 43.5-litre capacity. Additionally, an anti-theft alarm system is available, activated automatically when the C 400 is switched off or at the press of a remote key button.

The standard instrument panel is a 6.5-inch TFT-LCD while a 10.25-inch TFT-LCD panel is available for the C 400 GT as a factory-fitted option. Featuring Bluetooth connectivity to the rider’s smartphone, the instrument panel allows for media playback and telephone function control as well as turn-by-turn navigation using the BMW Motorrad Connected app.

Braking is done with twin disc brakes with four-piston callipers clamping 265 mm diameter discs while the rear gets a single-piston floating calliper with 265 mm disc. Suspension uses telescopic forks in front and twin preload-adjustable shock absorbers in the rear.

Wheel sizing is 15-inches in front and 14-inches at the rear, wearing 120/70 and 150/70 tyres, respectively. Weight is listed as 201 kg for the C 400 GT and 199 kg for the C 400 X, while seat height is set at 775 mm and 12.8-litres of fuel is carried in the tank.
