Dehumidifiers can be a bit of an investment, but they're a cost-effective way to dry clothes, eliminate window condensation and remove excess moisture in the home. Amazon is currently selling a 12L dehumidifier that has received rave reviews from shoppers, with one customer claiming it's "cheaper than cranking the heating up" for drying clothes.

The online retail giant is offering the energy-efficient Meaco MeacoDry ABC Dehumidifier, which costs approximately 3p an hour to run, for £169.99. This gadget boasts low power consumption and optimised energy usage, making it affordable and practical for daily use to keep condensation issues at bay.

The dehumidifier uses significantly less electricity than tumble dryers, thanks to its dedicated laundry mode that operates for six hours before automatically switching off to conserve energy and your money. It also features a handy function where you set the desired humidity level and it will turn itself off when this target is reached, only turning back on when it senses a rise in humidity.

The Meaco MeacoDry ABC Dehumidifier can be used in any room to reduce condensation, warm up the air, and prevent damp walls, odours and mould. Over 5,300 Amazon customers have reviewed this 'quiet and efficient' gadget so far, giving it an overall rating of 4.7 out of five.

One delighted customer gave the product five stars, saying: "Dries a full load of laundry within six hours. I've had this for coming on two years, it's brilliant for the damp UK winters where it's impossible to dry anything. Put this in a room on laundry mode and come back to dry, fresh clothes. Cheaper than cranking the heating up.", reports the Express.

"I'm very impressed," stated another satisfied purchaser, adding, "Easy to set up, quiet and it's doing a great job. We should have bought one years ago. We live in an old house and have damp walls - the machine is delivering 12 litres of water a day and the room smells much better. 100% recommend."

A third shopper said: "The amount of water this machine has pulled out is astronomical. I can honestly say we have not had one drop of condensation since using it. We also have a smart meter and can see that it doesn't use a lot, despite being on 24/7."

Another fan said: "I am so impressed and extremely glad I bought it. I told my parents about it and they have now bought exactly the same one, for the same reasons. They are also equally impressed and over the moon with the difference it has made."

The Meaco MeacoDry ABC Dehumidifier is available for purchase on Amazon for £169.99. A similar 12L Pro Breeze Low Energy Dehumidifier is also being sold by B&Q at the same price.
