New Balance fans are swearing by a pair of trainers, with one customer saying they have been wearing them “for over five years”. The athletic footwear’s 574 trainers have racked up a 4.2-star rating with over 100 reviews recommending them.

The shoes come complete with lightweight EVA foam and cushioning in the midsole and heels to increase comfort. The foam is said to be a durable polyurethane rim to help “deliver all-day support”.

The mesh and suede shoes come in four different colours including sea salt white, gulf red, chive green and blue laguna. They usually retail for £100 but currently are on sale with 40% off - meaning they will set you back £60.

New Balance said the 574 shows might be their “unlikeliest icon” yet. In its product description, the retailer said: “The 574 was built to be a reliable shoe that could do a lot of different things well rather than as a platform for revolutionary technology, or as a premium materials showcase. This unassuming, unpretentious versatility is exactly what launched the 574 into the ranks of all-time greats.

“As hybrid road/trail design built on a wider last than the previous generation’s narrow racing silhouettes, the 574 offered a uniquely versatile mix of new, different, uncomplicated, rugged, durable, and comfortable that was adopted as a closet staple across the globe.”

One customer said: “574 are my favourite kind of New Balance trainers, they look very nice, I have got 3 different colours”, while another added: “I love New Balance and my new 574s. They are comfortable, fit perfectly, and look brilliant.”

A third customer said: “Comfy shoes that go with a lot of outfits. Love the range of colours available.” Whereas another shopper called the shoes “class and elegant” before adding: “These are absolutely wonderful trainers that offer timeless style with a modern edge. Literally cannot fault them.”

A separate review read: “Best shoes ever. 574 are the only shoes I’ve worn for over 5 years. My feet reject inferior products.” A final review penned: “Never really been a trainer wearer but bought my first pair last year and never looked back.”
