The SZBOX H9 mini PC is a small fanless computer featuring a 6-watt Intel N100 quad-core processor, support for up to 16GB of DDR5-4800 memory, and a PCIe or SATA SSD.

It’s also positioned as a device that can be used as a firewall, server, or for other networking applications thanks to two 2.5 GbE LAN ports and support for an M.2 2230 wireless card. The SZBOX H9 is available from AliExpress with prices starting at about $120 for a barebones model that ships without memory, storage, or an operating system. Prices start about $35 higher if you want a system that ships with RAM and an SSD.

The system measures 101 x 101 x 45mm (3.98″ x 3.98″ x 1.77″) and features a single SODIMM slot for memory, an M.2 2280 slot that should support PCIe 3.0 or SATA storage, and an M.2 2230 connector for a WiFi and Bluetooth.

Ports include:

  • 1 x HDMI
  • 1 x DisplayPort
  • 2 x 2.5 GbE LAN (Intel i226-V)
  • 1 x USB 3.0 Type-A
  • 1 x USB 2.0 Type-A
  • 1 x DC power input (12V)

The product description says the system can also “be extended” with boards featuring four Intel i226-V 2.5 GbE LAN ports and that there’s support for SATA 3.0 hard drives or SSDs, but the pictures available on the product page don’t make it clear how you’d add those things.

There’s also what appears to be a heat sink on top of the case for passive cooling, but there’s also a fan connector on the back of the computer and four screw holes on top of the heat sink case so that you can attach an external fan to the top of the system if you want additional cooling performance.
