Lenovo Legion Y700 (2024) gaming tablet launches in China (Flagship-class hardware at a mid-range price)

Lenovo’s latest Android tablet built for gaming looks a lot like the models that the company released in 2022 and 2023, which is probably why the new Lenovo Legion Y700 gaming tablet has the same name as its predecessors.

But the Legion Y700 (2024) model does bring a few significant upgrades. For one thing it now ships with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, giving it the kind of processing power you’d expect from a flagship phone. Lenovo has also increased the screen refresh rate, added more power to the vibration motor, and made several other changes. The Legion Y700 is available for pre-order now in China, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a global version of this tablet launch early next year.

That’s because after launching the previous-gen model in China in July, 2023, Lenovo rebranded the tablet as the Legion Tab and gave it a global launch in March, 2024.

This year’s model should bring a big boost in CPU and graphics performance. While it has the same 6550 mAh battery as its predecessors, its fast charging has been bumped from 45 watts up to 68 watts.

Lenovo says the dual x-axis linear motors also provide 30% stronger feedback, the new vapor chamber offers extra cooling capacity, and the display touch latency has been reduced for quicker response times.

Built-in storage has also been upgraded from UFS 3.1 to UFS 4.0 which should bring faster read and write speeds. But there’s one feature that previous-gen Lenovo Legion Y700 tablets had that the new model does not: a microSD card reader for removable storage.
