Here we have explained about the three upcoming electric scooters from big brands like Honda, TVS and Suzuki in India in 2025

Electric scooters have been gaining a lot of prominence in the Indian market for the last 2-3 years. We have seen leading auto manufacturers such as Bajaj, Hero, TVS and Ola venturing into the EV segment with their scooters. Now, with the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 approaching, we expect several new electric scooters to hit the Indian roads. In this piece, we have listed 3 upcoming electric scooters in India.

1. Honda Activa EV

Recently, Honda confirmed that its first-ever electric two-wheeler for India will finally go on sale in March 2025. To be based on the Activa 110, it will be equipped with two Honda Mobile Power Packs (detachable and swappable battery). Honda Activa EV will make its global debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in January in New Delhi.

Some of the features on-board could be a fully digital touchscreen instrument console, keyless start/stop and connected features. It is expected to come with a range of 100+ km on a single charge. Since it will rival the Ola S1, TVS iQube and Ather 450, it will be priced in excess of Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom).

2. TVS Jupiter EV

We earlier told you that TVS is working on a range of electric products for the Indian market, which includes the all-electric version of the Jupiter scooter. The brand itself has confirmed the launch of two all-new EVs in the next 6 months in the domestic market. TVS already retails two electric scooters in the form of iQube and X in the country.

TVS Jupiter ICE

The Jupiter EV will be a mass-market product aimed at daily commuters. It will be the brand’s entry-level EV offering in India with a range of around 70-80 km on a single charge. The Jupiter e-scooter will compete with Ola S1X while the price will be kept less than Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom).

3. Suzuki Burgman EV

Suzuki’s first electric scooter for India, apparently the Burgman EV, will enter production in Dec 2024. It will get a fixed battery pack, contrary to the reports that claimed a detachable battery based on the spy images captured during the test runs. Codenamed as XF091, it will debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in January.

Suzuki e Burgman

Suzuki has set a realistic annual sales target of 25,000 units for this electric scooter. In 2023, the Japanese automaker showcased Burgman electric, albeit with a detachable battery pack. The e-scooter was spied testing multiple times on Indian roads. However, things will be clear and more information will emerge in the next few days as we come closer to its debut.
