Google CEO Sundar Pichai reveals 25% of software is written by AI

by · KalingaTV

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has revealed that most of the new Google code is now being written by AI. Ai writes 25% of the new Google code. Sundar Pichai made this stunning revelation during Google’s third-quarter 2024 earning call recently. According to him, over 25% of Google‘s new code is now written by artificial intelligence (AI) and reviewed by human engineers.

But that does not mean that the coders will lose their job. This means by this, AI will ease the engineer’s job on complex problems and innovation; it will increase efficiency. But the concern is, freshers may get lesser opportunity in the coding world because of automation. The coders and software engineers need to learn new skills so that they can remain in the game with respect to the AI-generated code.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced this during the quarterly earnings call. In a blog post, Google’s CEO stated that more than a quarter of all new code at Google is generated by AI. Transformation indicates Google‘s aggressive venture to innovate and extend capabilities across the board in artificial intelligence. This shift becomes a major landmark for the tech world because AI is increasingly coming to be included in the development. Google has utilized this AI-based coding assistant to make coding less time-consuming and easier to code. Google recently combined all the research, machine learning, security, and product teams to speed up AI innovation of new models like Gemini.

Gemini is now available through GitHub Copilot. It will make the AI-powered tools accessible to developers worldwide. Google has also invested in video AI, which will help creators to generate exciting video using the AI video tools.
