Maruti Suzuki India today launched the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire (fourth generation) at a starting price of Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The top-spec variant of the fresh version of the country's largest-selling sedan is priced at Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom). Both are introductory prices.

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the first Maruti Suzuki model to score a 5-star safety rating at Global NCAP crash tests. However, it must be noted that all Maruti Suzuki models have always complied with the official safety norms in India.

In its fresh avatar, the 2024 Dzire gets several segment-first features. The front has a bold new grille. There are LED Crystal Vision headlamps with LED DRLs, and LED rear combination lamps. The car drives on new 15-inch alloy wheels. Some fresh additions include a shark fin antenna and a boot lid spoiler.

The cabin of the new Dzire is based on that of the new Swift. However, the sedan has a new dual-tone scheme for the dashboard with a wooden-finish garnish. You see features like a new 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Arkamys surround sense, 360-degree camera, automatic AC, cruise control, electric sunroof, rear AC vents, rear armrest and Suzuki Connect.

According to Maruti, the Dzire 2024 is based on the fifth-generation Heartect platform. The car's structure is 45% high-tensile steel. Standard safety features include six airbags, an electronic stability program, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, a three-point seatbelt for all seats, and Isofix mounts. Also, a rear defogger comes as standard.

The new Dzire uses the same engine as the new Swift. It employs the Z12E 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, which develops 81.58PS of maximum power and 111.7Nm of peak torque. It can be clubbed either with a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT. There is also a CNG option with a 5-speed MT.

The 2024 Dzire mileage is claimed to be 24.79kmpl for MT and 25.71kmpl for AMT.
