Vivo India has just confirmed the upcoming launch of its latest mid-range smartphone, the Vivo Y300 5G. On Tuesday, the brand took to its social media channels to announce the launch and share the first glimpse of the Y300’s design. Expected to be an upgrade from last year’s Vivo Y200, the Y300 will feature a dual rear camera setup and a sleek, affordable yet capable 5G design. While Vivo hasn’t revealed the precise launch date, rumours suggest that the phone will be available in the Indian market by the end of this month.
The Vivo Y series, including models like the Y200, has been competitive in the sub-Rs 20,000 price range. The next-gen Y300 is also anticipated to fall under the similar price range, offering powerful features and 5G capabilities. Vivo has strategically timed this launch to cater to the growing demand for affordable 5G phones in India. While most details remain under wraps, rumours suggest that the Vivo Y300 5G will bring notable upgrades over its predecessor in both design and hardware. Based on current leaks and teaser images, the Y300 is expected to feature a modern, titanium-inspired design, similar to the Vivo V40 Lite, a model previously released in international markets. The handset is expected to come in three colour options: Titanium Silver, Emerald Green, and Phantom Purple.
On the front, the Vivo Y300 is rumoured to sport a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. At the back, while the teaser confirms a dual camera setup, the Y300 is expected to feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor. The main camera is anticipated to use the Sony IMX882 sensor, known for capturing detailed portrait shots, and may include Vivo’s signature AI Aura Light for improved low-light photography. On the front, the phone is rumoured to house a 32-megapixel selfie camera, a step up from many competitors in its class.
Under the hood, the Vivo Y300 5G is rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, coupled with 8GB of RAM for adequate multitasking capabilities and 5G connectivity. The phone is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging, a notable upgrade in this price range.
Given these expected features, the Vivo Y300 stands out in the mid-range smartphone market. If the rumours hold true, the Y300’s combination of a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, powerful camera setup, and robust battery support make it appealing to consumers looking for an affordable 5G phone. Additionally, the presence of 80W fast charging adds value, making the Y300 a compelling option for anyone seeking both performance and design.
