by India Today Auto Desk · India TodayMaruti Suzuki India has opened bookings for the fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire. The updated version of the popular sub-4 metre compact sedan will be launched on November 11. The new model can be booked for a token amount of Rs 11,000 at any Arena showroom or via the carmaker's official website.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the largest-selling sedan ever in India. It initially entered the market in 2008. Till now, it has clocked wholesales of more than 27,00,000 units.
The new model has already been spied testing. It gets a bold five-slat grille flanked by sharper LED headlights. There are new LED taillights. The alloy wheels have been redone as well. The exterior is completely different from that of the new Swift.
However, the cabin of the Dzire 2024 seems to be similar to that of the Swift 2024, which gets Smartplay Pro+ 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, wireless charger, Arkamys sound system, 360-degree camera and Suzuki Connect, among others.
So far as safety is concerned, the new Dzire is expected to get six airbags as standard, three-point seatbelt, electronic stability control and hill-hold assist.
We expect the K-Series 1.2-litre 4-cylinder Dual-Jet Dual-VVT petrol engine (89.7PS and 113Nm) to be replaced by the new Z-Series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine (82PS and 113Nm) in the Dzire 2024. The transmission options are expected to be the same as before, 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT.
The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire price is expected to be from Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). The outgoing model is priced between Rs 6.56 lakh and Rs 9.39 lakh (ex-showroom).
