Little over a week ago Oppo launched its flagship Find X8 series, including the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro, in China. Now, it's time for the global launch. When exactly? While the dates are yet to be revealed, Oppo has confirmed that the global launch is happening soon. We expect the phones to rollout globally, including in India, in the coming weeks. Oppo has already teased about the upcoming global launch for its flagship series, which feature Hasselblad Master-tuned cameras.
As anticipation builds for the global launch of the Oppo Find X8 series, let's take a quick look at what we can expect. Since Oppo has already unveiled the series in China, the global variants are likely to feature similar specifications. Here's a closer look at the Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro, launched in China in October.
Oppo Find X8 Series specifications
In China, Oppo has launched the new Find X8 with a 6.59-inch LTPO OLED display, offering a 1256 x 2760 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Meanwhile, the Find X8 Pro sports a bigger 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with micro-quad curvature, to offer more of a premium edge-to-edge feel. Although both models maintain a similar resolution, the Find X8 may have a marginally sharper pixel density due to its smaller size.
As for the brightness, both screens promise a peak brightness at 4,500 nits in HDR mode and up to 1,600 nits in standard mode, to ensure bright and clear visibility even in direct sunlight, and vibrant colour reproduction for HDR content. With LTPO technology, users can expect adaptive refresh rates that respond to on-screen content, improving battery efficiency.
One standout feature of the Find X8 series is the camera system, fine-tuned in collaboration with Hasselblad. The Find X8 includes a 50-megapixel main camera with Sony's LYT-700 sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 3x telephoto camera with a 73mm periscope lens for zoomed in shots.
While the Find X8's camera setup is impressive, the Pro variant goes further, offering a 6x optical zoom lens, providing greater reach and detail for photos clicked from a distance. Both phones also support OPPO's HyperTone image engine, enhancing colour accuracy and contrast across various lighting conditions. Additional camera features include Hasselblad Portrait Mode and LivePhoto, which captures short video snippets alongside each image, adding a dynamic aspect to photography.
Another upgrade the Find X8 series brings is an exclusive Quick Button—a customisable feature that activates the camera, functions as a shutter button, and allows users to zoom with ease. This feature resembles Apple's new Capture Button introduced with the iPhone 16 series.
For performance, the Find X8 series is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9400 chipset, a next-generation SoC that for now has been receiving positive impressions for its impressive benchmark performance. Both Find X8 models also use Oppo's advanced cooling technology, featuring a graphite layer, vapour chamber, and thermally conductive gel to maintain peak performance during prolonged use. How good will this prove to be in regular use is something we will get to know better once the Find X8 phones arrive in the market and people start using them.
In China, the Find X8 series has been launched with ColorOS 15, Oppo's latest operating system, which offers a redesigned interface and a range of AI-driven improvements. These enhancements aim to streamline the user experience, with features like smart app recommendations and adaptive power management.
Under the hood, the Oppo Find X8 houses a 5,630mAh battery, while the Find X8 Pro comes with a larger 5,910mAh cell. Both models use Oppo's silicon-carbon battery technology and support 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. Both devices are also IP69 rated for dust and water resistance, adding durability in various environments.
Oppo Find X8 series expected pricing in India
