Apple Wallet has gotten one step closer to replacing your actual wallet. The company has just announced that California driver’s licenses and state IDs can now be added to the virtual wallet.

California joins a growing list of states in which virtual licenses and IDs are considered equal to the real deal. Hawaii, Ohio, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, and Maryland have all already partnered with Apple to bring IDs to the Apple Wallet.

California was already working on its own pilot version of the feature on its own app. Available on both Apple and Android devices, the app allows state residents to use what the California DMV calls a mobile driver’s license (mDL).

“Californians now have the option of adding their driver’s license or state ID to their iPhone or Apple Watch in Apple Wallet,” Governor Gavin Newsom said. “With this new integration, we’re working to better serve the people of California in the 21st century.”

Montana, New Mexico, and West Virginia have all signed as the next batch of states bringing virtual licenses and IDs to the Apple Wallet.
