Apple Debuts New M4 MacBook Pro With Integrated Apple Intelligence
Featuring exceptional speed and and pro-level upgrades.
by Adelle Ki · HypebeastApple is marking a new era in professional computing with its latest MacBook Pro lineup, which features the M4 chip family and introduces Apple Intelligence. The lineup includes three chip variants: M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max, all built on advanced second-generation 3-nanometer technology.
The M4 chip family delivers exceptional performance, boasting the fastest single-threaded CPU core on the market and remarkable multithreaded capabilities. The standard M4 chip offers memory bandwidth up to 120GB per second, with the M4 Pro and M4 Max models at least doubling that, ensuring smooth handling of large language models and other demanding applications. Performance has reached new peaks, with the 14-inch M4 model achieving up to 1.8 times the speed of its M1 predecessor, and the top-tier M4 Max delivering 3.5 times the performance of the M1, ideal for professionals in fields like 3D rendering and data science.
Display technology sees a major improvement with an optional nano-texture finish for the Liquid Retina XDR display, which reduces glare in bright environments. Brightness reaches up to 1000 nits for SDR and 1600 nits for HDR content. Video conferencing is enhanced with a 12MP Center Stage camera, featuring auto-centering and Desk View.
The M4 Pro and M4 Max models support Thunderbolt 5, doubling data transfer speeds compared to previous models. Essential ports are retained, including HDMI with 8K support, MagSafe 3 charging, and an SDXC card slot, with additions like Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
This MacBook Pro release also debuts Apple Intelligence, a systemwide AI that assists with tasks like writing, summarizing, and creating emojis. Integrated features such as Siri, image generation tools, and privacy safeguards leverage Apple’s silicon to provide personalized suggestions and improve productivity. Starting in December, ChatGPT integration with Siri will allow users to access advanced capabilities directly while adhering to Apple’s strict privacy standards.
The new MacBook Pro is offered in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. Prices start at £1,599 (approximately $2,070 USD) for the M4 base model, £1,999 (approximately $2,588 USD) for the M4 Pro, and £2,499 (approximately $3,235 USD) for the M4 Max. Available for pre-order on the Apple webstore and in the Apple Store app.
