But you'll have to be quick, as this flash deal won't last long

Amazon Prime's Big Deals Day may be over, but that doesn't mean there aren't still bargains to be had from the retail giant - including more than £50 off the brand-new Amazon Fire 7 tablet right now, for a limited time only.

The latest model of the 7" display Amazon Fire 7 device has been slashed to less than half-price on the site, down from its usual retail price £64.99, to just £29.99.

But the discount doesn't end there: bargain-hunters who use the website TopCashback can bring the price of the tablet down even further, meaning you could get your hands on the gadget for as little as £14.37 after all discounts are applied.

Securing these extra savings is easy - all you have to do is sign up to TopCashback here, purchase the Amazon Fire 7 tablet through Amazon, and then wait for the cashback to be tracked and added to your account, according to the Manchester Evening News. The cashback is usually available to withdraw within seven days of your purchase.

However, you'll have to be quick if you want to take advantage of this unbeatable deal, as the Amazon sale on the Fire 7 tablet is only available until 8.55am next Wednesday, October 16, giving you just days to snap up the tablet at its lowest ever price.

The Amazon device features a 7-inch touchscreen with either 16 or 32GB of storage, with the ability to add up to 1TB of expandable storage with a microSD card.

Users can enjoy up to 10 hours of reading, browsing the web, watching videos, listening to music and more, thanks to its long-lasting battery life.

It's also 30 per cent faster than previous iterations of the tablet, featuring 2GB of RAM. Users can relax and unwind with their favourite apps including BBC iPlayer, Netflix, NowTV, Facebook, Disney+, Instagram, and TikTok, all available from the Amazon App Store. Parental controls can also be added, for that extra piece of mind.

The 54 per cent saving applies to the 'Rose' pink colour option of the tablet, with 16GB storage capacity and with Ads. However, if you wanted a higher storage capacity, the Black tablet comes with 32GB of storage, and is currently available for a similar 47 per cent discount, down from £74.99 to just £39.99 on Amazon.

Harriet Morphy-Morris, senior tech writer for the Mirror, wrote: "The Fire 7 isn't Amazon's speediest or flashiest tablet, but with this deal coming in at less than £15 you can't go wrong, it's a top-budget option and its features match.

"The 7-inch display, while slightly small for film fanatics, makes it ideal for on the go and along with its 10-hour battery life this model would suit uni students, commuters, and travellers.

"The Fire 7 also got a chip, battery and Android upgrade back in 2022, so all things considered it's a sturdy choice for processing speeds and software. Users shouldn't expect a flashy and ultra-sharp screen but its display will be perfectly suitable.

"Those looking for a brighter screen may want to look at the Fire Max 11, another affordable pick but with newer 2023 specs."

The Amazon Fire 7 tablet has garnered a 4.5-star rating on Amazon, with nearly 5,000 reviews. One satisfied buyer wrote: "Best product I've bought in years, easy to navigate, easy to use, great storage. Value for money for sure."

Another added: "Perfect for my needs. I bought this for listening to books whilst sewing and before sleep. Perfect size. Battery life good. It has so much more potential, I now download library books to listen and read, which I couldn't do on my first generation Kindle."

And it is also great for kids, as parents can set up parental controls for peace of mind(Image: Amazon.co.uk)

A third called the tablet the "first e-reader I've loved", commenting: "I originally bought this for my mother but she found it a bit too small. I was going to send it back but thought I'd give it a go myself. Fell madly in love with it and now I bring it everywhere.

"Really love the size, fits nicely in my hand when I want to read before bed. Although I love paper books, this is the first e-reader I've loved. I've tried the paperwhite's etc., but with this on continuous scroll, its definitely been my favourite e-reading experience so far. Battery is great as well."

Meanwhile, another happy customer remarked: "This is a great bit of kit for the price. As a regular Apple buyer who has paid over £800 for an iPad (which I love), I was blown away by the price and functionality of this device for a fraction of the price. Surfing the net, social media, reading, apps, email - it’s pretty much all there. Perfect for kids, too, given the price."

However, not everyone was as impressed with the tablet, as one reviewer wrote: "This is a glorified e-book reader and it does that job well. However, the Fire is truly dire if you want to search the net with it.

"It uses the Amazon Silk browser which is pretty poor. More often than not it just times out on a simple search. I then pick up my iPhone and find what I'm looking for straight away. It's not at all keen on you downloading an alternative browser, and there is a very limited range of apps available on the app store.

"If you're on a really right budget and you want to use it mostly for reading books, this is just fine. If you want to do a bit more, it might be better to shop around."

And another echoed these sentiments, adding: "It does the job, but God it's slow, and I ended up not using it after about 2 weeks. It has the processing power of a potato, and as much as it constantly has Amazon Video adverts on it, you couldn't watch a movie on something that struggles so much."

However, it seems that Amazon is not alone in attracting customers this weekend. Other online retailers from Wowcher to Debenhams, and even Antler and Roman, are launching their sales to stack up with Prime Day. To discover our top selections from Antler's 40% off Prime Week promotion, visit here.
