Sapphire RX 7700 XT FROSTPUNK 2 Edition Graphics Card Bundle is Too Good to Miss!
by Peter Donnell · eTeknixUpgrading your graphics card is pretty easy in 2024, as you simply need one thing, some money. But even easier is that there’s no shortage of really great performance hardware too, with even modern entry-level models providing exciting performance in the latest and most popular games, and further options still if you want to game at high frame rates, high resolutions, or both. Of course, everyone has their limits, and paying £1000+ for the most extreme cards is likely unappealing on many levels for a lot of gamers and their wallets. However, that’s where the RX 7700 XT comes into play, costing under £400 it delivers some pretty incredible features and performance for enthusiast-level gaming, and now it also offers some rather unique aesthetics, with the release of the Sapphire PURE AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT 12GB Frostpunk 2 Edition graphics card.
While it’s not worth retreading old ground with this one, as the RX 7700 XT is well reviewed by ourselves and many others. We know it’s a fantastic chipset that offers some very competitive value for money for PC gaming, it has done so since it launched in 2023, and that much has not changed as we approach 2025.
Features
- Tough Metal Backplate: The all-aluminum backplate provides additional rigidity, ensuring no bending and keeping dust out. It also helps cool your card by increasing heat dissipation.
- Digital Power Design: SAPPHIRE PURE AMD Radeon™ RX 7000 Series cards are designed with digital power, providing accurate power control and excellent power efficiency.
- High TG Copper PCB: The GPU is mounted on a high-density 14-layer 2oz copper and high TG PCB to handle the speed, current, and power requirements of the GPU and memory, guaranteeing high stability during operation.
- Optimized Composite Heatpipe: The composite heatpipes are fine-tuned for each cooling design with optimal heat flow, efficiently and evenly spreading the heat across the cooling module.
- Angular Velocity Fan Blade: This fan blade design provides a double layer of downward air pressure, resulting in up to 44% more downward air pressure and up to 19% more airflow for quieter and cooler operation compared to previous generations.
- Fuse Protection: SAPPHIRE cards have fuse protection built into the external PCI-E power connector circuit to keep components safe.
- Graphics Card Supporter: Includes a graphics card supporter to keep the card securely in place on the PCIe slot.
- ARGB SAPPHIRE Logo: An ARGB logo, set to the signature Frostpunk 2 orange by default, adds a fiery touch. It can be easily adjusted or turned off.
- Two-Ball Bearing: Dual ball bearing fans have an approximately 85% longer lifespan than sleeve bearings. Improvements to the fan blades result in up to 10% quieter operation than the previous generation.
We reviewed the Sapphire RX 7700 XT Pure 12GB Graphics Card last year, and it was pretty fantastic. Delivering high frame rates while using ultra settings at 1440p in many AAA games, meaning it has more than enough performance grunt to satisfy the needs of any gamer.
So while the performance hasn’t really changed, short of a few driver updates and optimizations in that time, Sapphire has decided to do something more unique to appeal to the gaming market. With their new Frostpunk 2 edition, you’ll be able to showcase your graphics card with a more unique design than this card’s standard editions.

Packaging and Accessories
However, I have to say, the standard edition still looks pretty fantastic too. Check out my review of that one here. But of course, you’re here for the Frostpunk 2 Edition! This, as you can see, comes with this stunning box design that really makes it stand out from the crowd.
In the box, the card comes bundled with this lovely thick metal support bracket, ensuring your card doesn’t sag under its own weight, but it also looks pretty cool too.
It comes beautifully packaged though, and I like this little attention to detail, as it’s a box you could proudly leave on display on a shelf rather than just bury it in a cupboard.
Want a little extra customisation? There are three keycaps included in the box with the F, P and 2 keys, as well as a keycap puller so you can easily swap them into your own keyboard.
It also comes bundled with a few metal badges!
There’s a mini graphics card backplate, which I really love. It’s such a unique little extra!
As well as this gorgeous frost-punk-themed badge.
And this one with one of the character faces on it. These are perfect for clipping onto your hat, bag, coat or whatever you like really.

A Closer Look
The big selling point, however, is the custom backplate, with a stunning Frostpunk 2 design it looks like it has been weathered and worn by the frosty environment, with rust and scratches, but of course, it’s not rusty or covered in scratches, it’s in very good brand new condition!
The front of the card looks very similar to the XT Pure edition I linked to previously, but there are some little tweaks to the design here you could easily miss. The Pure logo has been removed from the middle of the fans, and replaced by the F, P, and 2 badges.
They’re slightly weathered and worn much like the design on the back of the card too.
But overall, it’s still the same premium cooler design we’ve come to know and love from the high-end Sapphire Pure graphics card series, with three unique fans providing big airflow to the large heatsinks for optimal gaming performance.
Down the side of the card, you can see that frosty and rusty design design creeping along the edge too.
It’s all little details, but they add up to something really interesting and unique, and frankly, we don’t see enough collaborative designs like this in the gaming market, and we really should!

How Much Does it Cost?
If you’re looking for something unique, and you’re a fan of the game, the SAPPHIRE PURE AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT Frostpunk 2 Edition graphics card certainly ticks the right boxes. This limited-edition card is designed to be the perfect companion for the latest game from 11-bit studios and comes priced at just £398.99.
But this card offers more than just stunning visuals. The Frostpunk 2 Edition bundle includes exclusive collectables to enhance your gaming experience. Alongside the powerful graphics card, you’ll receive three keyboard keycaps and three enamel pins inspired by the game, allowing you to showcase your Frostpunk fandom. To top it off, the bundle includes a Frostpunk 2 Deluxe Edition game code, so you can jump right into the action and experience the game as it was meant to be played. That’s pretty amazing value for money, the game, some merch, and a unique-looking graphics card, and the added cost is significantly less than buying the normal GPU and the game together, so a big thumbs up to Sapphire for pulling this off and making it such an appealing bargain!
Conclusion
The SAPPHIRE PURE AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT Frostpunk 2 Edition is a stunning example of how hardware and game worlds can collide. This isn’t just a powerful graphics card; it’s a collector’s item that captures the essence of Frostpunk 2. Beyond its frosty aesthetic, it boasts 12GB of GDDR6 memory, a boost clock of up to 2565 MHz, and advanced cooling features like optimised composite heatpipes and those amazing-looking angular velocity fan blades. This means high-fps gaming at 1440p and beyond with little to no compromise on quality settings, ensuring you can experience the frozen wasteland of Frostpunk 2 in all its glory, as well as any other PC game you desire.
What truly sets this edition apart is the attention to detail. From the frosty-white shroud and rusted backplate to the bundled keycaps, pins, and mini replica backplate, Sapphire has gone above and beyond to create a truly unique package for Frostpunk fans.
The inclusion of the Frostpunk 2 Deluxe Edition game completes the package, allowing you to jump straight into the action with a graphics card that’s perfectly tailored to the task, so if you’re planning to buy the game and a new GPU, this bundle just makes absolute sense, because it’s cheaper than buying them separately!
While the price tag is slightly higher than the standard RX 7700 XT, the added value of the Frostpunk 2 bundle makes it a worthwhile investment. It’s a testament to what can be achieved when hardware manufacturers embrace creative collaborations and cater to passionate gaming communities.
Sapphire could have gone more extreme with the design, but it would just elevate the price even further, and for what it is, I think you get something really interesting here without welcoming in any compromises for weird designs or higher prices.
Should I Buy One?
While it may not appeal to people outside of the Frostpunk 2 fanbase, it’s easy to appreciate what Sapphire has done here. A great-looking card, a few bundled extras, and a copy of the game at a very fair price. I hope to see them do more of these in the future, and if this one is successful, I’m sure they will. What games would you like to see get their own custom GPU design at launch?
