Irani Cup 2024: Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel and fast bowler Yash Dayal were named in the Rest of India, but their availability will be subject to their participation in the second Test against Bangladesh. The Irani Cup between Mumbai and Rest of India will be played in Lucknow from October 1-5.

Dhruv Jurel and Yash Dayal, both of who are on national duty in the Test series against Bangladesh, have been picked in the Rest of India squad for the Irani Cup fixture against Mumbai. However, their participation is subject to their absence from the Playing XI for the Kanpur Test.

The India vs Bangladesh second Test is scheduled to be played in Kanpur from September 27 while the Irani Cup will be played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow from October 1

Ajinkya Rahane is all set to lead Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai in the upcoming Irani Cup game against Rest of India in Lucknow. Sarfaraz Khan is likely to be released from India's Test team to participate in Irani Cup for Mumbai/

Shreyas Iyer is looking for a place back in the Indian Test team and will be featuring in the Irani Cup fixture for Mumbai against the Rest of the India team. Mumbai have announced a 16-member squad for the fixture.

Team India is unlikely to make any changes to its batting unit for the second Test against Bangladesh which will be played at Green Park in Kanpur. Meanwhile, Mumbai will face the Rest of India in the Irani Cup fixture from October 1 to 5 and Sarfaraz is expected to turn up for the Ranji Champions.

Shreyas Iyer last played for India in an ODI series against Sri Lanka in early August. His last Test match for the Men in Blue came during the five-match series against England earlier in the year. Shreyas is currently out of the Indian Test team and is looking for a way to get back into it.
