Erik ten Hag and Ruud van Nistelrooy were caught in what seemed to be a fiery exchange during Manchester United's stalemate at Aston Villa. A video that surfaced on social media captured the two Dutchmen in a verbal tussle on the bench, with Ten Hag becoming visibly animated as he spoke to the ex-PSV Eindhoven boss.

The clip, which has sparked curiosity among fans who pondered whether the conversation was in English or Dutch, concludes with Ten Hag looking distinctly unimpressed. Following another goalless performance at Villa Park, yet securing a point thanks to their defensive efforts, Ten Hag acknowledged his team's attacking woes but commended their defensive resilience to Match of the Day: "We had that resilience, the whole season," he said.

"We conceded three against Tottenham because we were down to 10 and we still went for the win. But for the rest this is our fourth clean sheet."

He added: "This tells you we are in a good direction. Now also we improve defending counter attacks, and we improve controlling possession. But also we have to improve in the final third.

"First of all Rasmus [Hojlund] is returning. When he is up to full speed he will help us. But also other players have to take responsibility. I am very pleased with the performance of [Marcus] Rashford, twice he came close to goals. [Alejandro] Garnacho has been good all season. But also other players can score, we have to step up in that area," reports the Mirror.
