SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Hockey Club overcame a big blunder, an empty net goal given up during a delayed penalty, to prevail over the St. Louis Blues Sunday night in Des Moines, Iowa.

Despite the bizarre goal against the team, the club's first-ever NHL preseason game had a bit of everything. Austin Facer, host of SLC Puck!, wishes the fans in Utah could have experienced this game, with all its highs and lows.

It was just another note in a big week for Utah Hockey Club fans. In other news, the team signed its young star, Dylan Guenther, to a long-term contract, rolled out a streaming service and announced a timeline for jerseys to be put up for sale.

There's more ahead; the first home preseason game is Monday against the Los Angeles Kings at Delta Center. The first-ever regular season game, when the Utah Hockey Club takes on the Chicago Blackhawks on Oct. 8, has the stage set for an unforgettable night.
