Key dates, details, deadlines for Kings and other teams going into the 2024-25 NBA season
by Jason Anderson · The Fresno BeeThe Kings have less than two weeks before they open training camp in Sacramento.
Kings Media Day is set for Sept. 30 with training camp set to begin Oct. 1. The Kings will play the first of five preseason games when they host the Golden State Warriors on Oct. 9 at Golden 1 Center. They will open the regular season at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Nov. 15.
The Kings made the playoffs as the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference in 2022-23, ending the longest playoff drought in NBA history after 16 consecutive losing seasons. They just missed the playoffs last season, losing to the New Orleans Pelicans in the final game of the play-in tournament.
The Kings expect to return to the playoffs this season after adding six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan to a core that already features De’Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, Malik Monk, Keegan Murray and Kevin Huerter.
