The Sacramento Kings provided a number of injury updates prior to Monday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Kings were preparing to face the Spurs at Front Bank Center in San Antonio when the team released new details regarding Malik Monk, Orlando Robinson and Devin Carter.

Monk, Sacramento’s top reserve and the runner-up for the Sixth Man of the Year award last season, suffered a moderate right ankle sprain during the second quarter of Sunday’s win over the Phoenix Suns. X-rays revealed no structural damage.

Monk will be reevaluated in two weeks. He will likely be sidelined for a minimum of eight games. Monk missed the last nine games of the regular season and two play-in games last season after spraining his right MCL in a game against the Dallas Mavericks.

“Obviously, it’s tough to lose a guy that has as big of an impact as he has on our team,” Kings coach Mike Brown said. “We experienced it last year at the end of the year, so really it’s about the next man has to step up. We have 17 guys or whatever and everybody has to stay ready. You never know when your number is going to be called.”

Robinson, a 6-foot-10 center who signed with the Kings over the summer, has been cleared for contact after spraining his left MCL in practice on Oct. 3. He will be reevaluated in the coming days. Robinson came to the Kings after spending two seasons with the Miami Heat, where he averaged 3.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 10.9 minutes per game.

Carter, a rookie guard who came out of Providence as the No. 13 pick in the 2024 NBA draft, underwent left shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum on July 11. Carter was cleared for unrestricted shooting following a four-month follow-up appointment with Dr. Harlan Selesnick of Baptist Health Doctors Hospital. Further medical updates will be provided in January.
