Ospreys star Morgan Morris has revealed what he has been told he needs to do in order to finally break into the Wales squad.

Morris has been one of the standout backrowers in the Welsh game over the past few seasons and played a big part in the Ospreys reaching the URC play-offs last season. But despite receiving the player of the match award on a regular basis Morris has never been included in a Wales squad.

"I had a chat with (Jonathan) Humphreys the other week just about being better both sides of the ball and just getting more instances in the game," said the 26-year-old. "It's great getting that feedback from him.

"Getting more involvements in the game, so getting my numbers up and a bit more work rate and more involvement both sides of the ball.

"I think it's good that I've had the feedback now so I've got something to work on so I know what needs to happen in order to push on to get into the camp. I think that's probably a positive thing that there's something tangible there I can work on to work towards for the next step."

Given how often he has been overlooked Morris could be forgiven for throwing in the towel as far as his international ambitions are concerned. But the Ospreys man, who will make his 100th appearance for the club against the Bulls this Saturday, still has a burning desire to represent his country.

"I'm a rugby player in Wales, who doesn't want to play for their country?," he said. "Everyone in Wales wants to play for their country.

"It's always going to be a goal for me but I've got to focus first on my Ospreys games and every week for the Ospreys. Every game I get to play for the Ospreys are the most important games for me."
