Mike Tyson's children told him their private thoughts on his boxing comeback plans
by Tom Sunderland · Wales OnlineReturning king of the ring Mike Tyson was encouraged by his children to not launch a boxing comeback.
The former undisputed world heavyweight champion is poised to battle it out with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul on November 15. It will be the first professional fight since 2005, but the man formerly known as 'Kid Dynamite' appears up for the challenge.
Despite being a clear underdog and a very relevant 30-year disadvantage, Tyson is no stranger to comebacks. His last was in November 2020 when he fought fellow icon Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition match.

His children still advised him against returning to the sport after 15 years away from the ring at that time. Fast-forward to today, and the stakes are even higher against Paul.
Tyson told Jimmy Fallon (via The Mirror) in 2020: "My kids think I should sit my old a** down, but what do they know. I'm very confident. They don't know how to fight, neither one of my kids can beat me in a fight, so what are they talking about?"
Iron Mike is father to six children: Mikey, Rayna, Amir, Miguel, Milan, and Morocco, who range from their teens to 34. Tyson did have a seventh child - a daughter, Exodus - but she tragically died in an accident in 2009 when she was strangled by a treadmill power cable.
The former heavyweight champion fought Jones Jr to a split draw over eight rounds nearly four years ago. A repeat of that result would be joyous for many fans as he looks to last all eight two-minute rounds against Paul at AT&T Stadium.
There are worries the veteran, who is nearing pension age, could be found out of his depth taking on Paul. Although the former Disney actor hasn't beaten any notable boxers, he has a significant stamina advantage and has knocked out many of his opponents so far.
It stands to reason Tyson's children will be even more concerned about his health leading up to this fight four years on. And they aren't the only ones who may well wish the clash between old school and new wasn't proceeding.
