Jose Mourinho has expressed his anticipation at the prospect of becoming a grandfather, ahead of his daughter's impending nuptials.

The Fenerbahce manager is set to accompany his 28-year-old daughter Matilde down the aisle on Saturday (October 12) as she ties the knot with her fiance, Danny Graham. Their love story began in 2016 when Matilde reportedly introduced Danny to her grandparents during a trip to Portugal.

Following their engagement in August last year, the couple are now preparing to say their vows in the Portuguese town of Azeitao, with celebrations set to span two days, as reported by Spanish outlet Marca.

The official ceremony will be held at the Mourinho family home in Portugal on Saturday, followed by a second day of festivities at Herdade do Peru, in Azeitao. The newlyweds, already wearing their wedding bands, will welcome their loved ones once again, reports the Mirror.

As per The Mag by Flash, the wedding is expected to be a private affair, with over 300 guests anticipated to attend the joyous occasion. The publication also revealed that Mourinho has arranged a dinner for 80 guests at the Jose Maria da Fonseca House Museum on the eve of the wedding, where close friends and family of the soon-to-be-married couple will gather.

Matilde's long-term partner of a director and co-founder of property consultancy firm Agace and Graham. It is not yet clear whether they plan to start a family. However, her father, Mourinho, has expressed his desire to become a grandfather.

In a 2022 interview with Esquire following his Conference League victory, Mourinho hinted at getting a tattoo to celebrate the birth of his first grandchild. "Football-wise I don't think I'll get any more (tattoos)," the former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager said.

"This one I promised everyone; the idea was to get a unique tattoo that only I could have: the three European cups won. The next one I might get if my son or daughter had a baby girl or boy; it would be a special gift and a tattoo could be a nice way to celebrate it."

Despite being the offspring of one of football's most successful managers, Matilde has carved out her own path, earning a master's degree from the Conde Nast College of Fashion and Design in August 2021.

She has since launched 'Matilde Sustainable Jewellery', a London-based jewellery brand that has collaborated with big names like Stormzy. Her father Jose is also a regular wearer of the brand's necklaces, pendants, and rings.

The current international break will give the 61-year-old the opportunity to attend the wedding before quickly returning to his duties with Fenerbahce, who are set to face Samsunspor in the Turkish Super Lig next Sunday (October 20).
