New Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim shows true colours with car choice

Ruben Amorim, the newly appointed manager of Manchester United following Erik ten Hag's departure, is set to bring a refreshing change to the club with his down-to-earth approach. Unlike many modern footballers who flaunt their wealth with flashy supercars, Amorim prefers the modesty of a conservative vehicle.

His former course mates from the University of Lisbon, where he studied for a master's degree in high-performance football coaching, have shared insights into his humble nature. Petter Skogsletten highlighted Amorim's egalitarian attitude, saying: "For him, it doesn't matter if you've been playing at this level, he's at the same level as you. He opened up and he was himself with you."

Geoff Labine also commented on Amorim's preference for simplicity over luxury, recalling: "I would joke with Ruben because he's driving the most unassuming Smart car, those little cube cars."

"I'm looking for the Maserati or the Bugatti or something. He goes: 'No Geoff, you don't understand. I'm different. I'm not like that.'" Fans are eager to see how Amorim's grounded personality will translate to success on the pitch when he takes the reins at Old Trafford later this month.

Ruben Amorim's humble nature has been praised as he prepares to take over at Old Trafford. Miguel Godinho, president of Ginasio Clube de Corroios, where Amorim began his career at 15, spoke highly of the new Manchester United manager, reports the Mirror.

Speaking to Mirror Football, Godinho said: "As a boy here he was a very good player. He was very humble and very respectful and always really calm and tranquil. He was always a good friend to his friends and very loyal. Exactly what we see now. He hasn't changed."

Amorim also showed his character by sympathising with Sporting Lisbon fans over his mid-season departure. He stated: "In the next home game, whether we win or lose by 15-0, I'll be there to see what the fans want to give me. I understand their anger, but we move on and time heals everything. It was the best period of my life."

Amorim has signed a two-and-a-half year contract with United and will manage his first match against Ipswich on November 24.
