Disappointing Cardiff City ratings as players just not at in Luton Town defeat
by Glen Williams · Wales OnlineJak Alnwick 6
Made a couple of smart saves early on and took some sting out of Luton's attacks as they gained a head of steam.
Perry Ng 6
Luton had some joy down his flank but he didn't have much help from Tanner ahead of him. Had to defend more than attack.
Calum Chambers 6
Put in a few important challenges but was a lucky boy to get away with a handball shout after he appeared to paw away a dangerous cross.
Dimitrios Goutas 7
Managed the Carlton Morris threat pretty well. A good, physical battle between those two. Made some very good challenges late on.
Callum O'Dowda 6
Responsible in possession as ever and kept Luton's right-hand side pretty quiet for the most part. Sign up to our daily Cardiff City newsletter here.
Manolis Siopis 5
Lost the ball once or twice and was muscled out of possession a couple of times. Passed it backwards too often, too.
David Turnbull 7 (star man)
The pick of the midfielders. His range of passing looked Cardiff's most dangerous weapon for most of the night. Solid outing.
Ollie Tanner 5
Just looked out of sorts. The ball was pinging off his foot when he was trying to control it and rarely got past his man.
Rubin Colwill 6
Luton had done their homework and put two or three players on him to stifle him. Found it hard to work his magic.

Anwar El Ghazi 5
Flashed a header wide of the mark in the third minute and was hit-and-miss thereafter. Still not fully up to speed but continues to show flickers of quality. Needed to do better for Jacob Brown's goal - lost him at the corner.
Callum Robinson 6
Dropped too deep in the first half and left Cardiff without a man to bounce off up front. Had very few chances come his way, though.
Substitutes
Yakou Miete (Tanner 46) 7 - Made a difference when he came on. Put himself about and had a decent header saved.
Cian Ashford (Robinson 70) 5 - Struggled to string any passes together and hit one effort wildly wide of the mark.
Chris Willock (El Ghazi 70) 6 - Neat and tidy when he came on. Still waiting for him to explode.
Wilfried Kanga (Siopis 83) NA
