Swansea City claimed their first three points on the road this season with an impressive 2-1 win away at Coventry City.

First-half goals from Liam Cullen and Ollie Cooper gave Luke Williams' side the victory in match that was suspended in the second period due to adverse weather conditions.

The away side dominated matters in the opening 45 minutes and took the lead through an early Cullen finish, while Cooper doubled the advantage.

The Sky Blues pulled one back through Jack Rudoni but Swansea held on for back-to-back league victories.

Swansea made one change from the win over Norwich City, as Josh Tymon came in for Kyle Naughton at left-back.

They were rewarded for their bright start, with Cullen steering the ball home after Coventry had failed to clear a Matt Grimes corner.

At the other end, Brandon Thomas-Asante dragged an effort wide following a Coventry counter-attack before Lawrence Vigouroux had to be alert to push away a Norman Bassette strike.

The away team doubled the lead just after the half-hour mark, with Wales man Cooper bearing down on goal and cutting inside to finish inside the post.

The two-goal advantage would not last for long, however, as Rudoni got the ball on the edge of the 18-yard box and sent a deflected shot into the bottom corner.

That galvanised the hosts, who hit the bar before the referee blew for half-time. Swansea, who also rattled the woodwork themselves through Ronald, began the second period in determined fashion before the elements took hold.

Referee James Linington chose to take the players off the field with just over 65 minutes played, with the CBS Arena suffering a deluge of rainfall and lightning in the air.

Naturally the break broke up the rhythm of the game but Swansea held on through eight minutes of injury time to record all three points as their good run of form continued.
