Simone Biles sends message to Joe Biden after Kamala Harris defeat: ‘Straighten your back’

· New York Post

Legendary Olympic gymnast Simone Biles had a message for President Joe Biden less than 24 hours after Donald Trump was elected the 47th President of the United States.

Biles had revealed in a post on Threads on Election Day that she was supporting Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee, and following her defeat, the gymnast seemed to be calling on Biden to take some sort of action in his final months as president.

“Mr Biden, I need you to stand up, straighten your back and make some things shake before your departure. xoxo the women in america,” Biles wrote on X

In a series of posts on Threads, Biles had written earlier in the day that “we deserve better” with a broken heart emoji and a comment that read, “I’m SO sorry america.”

Wednesday was not the first time the seven-time Olympic gold medalist has waded into presidential politics this year.

In August, Biles appeared to clap back at Trump’s comments from a June debate after the current President-elect said that migrants had been taking “Black jobs” and “Hispanic jobs” from Americans.

Biles wrote: “I love my black job,” in response to a post on X by singer Ricky Davila.

Biles had wrapped up the final show of the 2024 Gold Over America Tour, which helped to celebrate her and a number of other U.S. gymnasts.

The American gymnast solidified her status as the GOAT of the sport during the Olympic games over the summer when she captured three golds and a silver medal at the Paris games.

She has won 11 Olympic medals over the course of her career.
